| For the first time since 20 years an international equestrian event took place in Libya. Riders from Egypt and Qatar dominated in the courses, but after a long lasting abstinence from international events Libyans reached a good result in the World Cup, a Libyan rider was third. I am sure we will see these riders more often in Europe in the future. But the World Cup is also a good opportunity to see on the other side of the show grounds something of the normal life in the many different countries. As for instance in the old town of Tripoli with the ubiquitous green flag of Libya. Bild Trading takes place in the streets and little shops, and as everywhere in the world ladies dress up for shopping.   The World Cups in Western Europe starts in October in Oslo (NOR) and Helsinki (FIN), and continues in November in Verona (ITA) and Stuttgart (GER), like in December in Geneva (SUI), London-Olympia (GBR) and Mechelen (BEL). |
   If a Libyan rider will be qualified for the final, is most probably questionable. But according to the qualifying rules we will have two riders qualified from the Arab League.
